‘A Declaration of Love’ to the fans, to one of the world’s greatest motorsport events and to the world’s most spectacular racetrack: this is the theme of the latest film that Falken has produced about the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
After two long years without spectators, the fans were back in the Eifel region at the end of May for the 50th anniversary running of the race and in record numbers. 230,000 were present at the track to celebrate the race being held once again with no restrictions on audience size. As such, the atmosphere at this year’s 24 Hours takes centre stage in this new short film.
In its previous film, released in May shortly before the 24-hour race, Falken addressed the absence of the fans and the challenging conditions and sense of isolation on the almost 25 km-long track that the teams and drivers experienced. At the same time, the film was also uplifting and served as an invitation to the fans to return to the track after two years away.
The emotion captured in the sequences showing the huge number of fans in ‘A Declaration of Love’ shows just how much everyone missed the spectacle. The film makes it clear why the race is incomparable and what makes the Nürburgring such a special venue.
The production was handled by Tobias Kahler’s MOTIONCTRL FILMPRODUKTION, and can be found on the Falken Tyres YouTube channel and its social media platforms from today.
“With the film, we want to convey the emotions that prevailed during the event. So many people celebrating the race as if nothing had happened, that’s what we wanted to capture,” says Tobias Kahler, Director and CEO of MOTIONCTRL FILMPRODUKTION.
“This is already the tenth film we have made with the MOTIONCTRL team,” says Dennis Wilstermann, responsible for marketing at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, commenting on the film’s launch. “The film is a tribute to the fans, to the race and to the Nürburgring.”
