Newspress Awards are back as we turn 50

In what is a very momentous year for Newspress as it reaches the half century mark, we’re pleased to announce that entries for the 2023 Newspress awards are now open.

Journalists, photographers and videographers can put forward their own work in a number of specific categories via the ‘Enter’ tab at – https://newspressuk.com/awards

Entries will be accepted until 11.59pm on April 30, 2023.

Contenders can enter as many relevant categories as they wish, but with only one entry per category. Staffers and freelancers are equally welcome to apply, and all entries will be judged on merit by an independent panel of experts.

As before, the PR awards for Press Office, PR of the Year and PR Rising Star are on a vote-only basis, with votes cast by Newspress-registered journalists only. In these three categories the individuals with the most votes will win. Anyone wishing to put forward candidates for the Lifetime Achievement Award are welcome to do so and can leave supporting information on the online entry form.

This is the seventh year of the Newspress Awards, which this year coincide with Newspress’s 50th anniversary.

Newspress’s managing director, Tim Barfoot, said: “The Awards are now part of the furniture for the automotive industry’s calendar. Newspress has been at the heart of the industry for five decades and part of our role is to celebrate journalism and PR excellence.

So as we mark our 50th anniversary we wish everyone who enters The Newspress Awards 2023 the very best of luck and we look forward to once again seeing the incredible quality of work being done being brought to the fore and given the recognition it deserves.”
