Non-member authors eligible for Guild book award

Book authors are eligible to enter the Mercedes-Benz Award for the Montagu of Beaulieu Trophy in the 2021 Guild of Motoring Writers Awards, offering cash prizes and free Guild membership.

The award is open to non-members as well as Guild members, and is presented to the person judged to have made the greatest contribution to recording, in English, the history of motoring or motorcycling in books.

First prize is £500 and two years’ free Guild membership, plus a trophy. There is a £200 cash prize for second place plus a year’s free Guild membership, while the third-placed entry wins £100 along with a year’s free Guild membership.

There are 11 other categories with cash prizes available and an entry deadline of next Thursday, 30th September. Finalists will be announced in mid-November, with an awards ceremony held during a gala dinnerat the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, on 2nd December.
