Classic vehicle writers have the opportunity to win a £500 prize in the 2020 Guild of Motoring Writers Awards.

The H&H Classics, Classics Writer of the Year is open to Guild members and will be presented to the journalist offering the best example of an article or feature (but not books) reporting on the world of classic vehicles of any age.

Entries should demonstrate an extensive knowledge of the subject and an interest in promoting the cause of classic motoring, whether it be cars, motorcycles or commercial vehicles.

Judges will be looking for material which shows a genuine enthusiasm for the subject and that is both engaging and informative for the reader.

Entries are open for submissions until 14 December, and there are nine other categories with cash prizes available.

Finalists will be announced in mid-January, with an awards ceremony broadcast online in February to announce the winners.

Up to three pieces of work will be accepted per entrant, and the best of these will be selected to create a shortlist of finalists. The finalists will be announced in mid-January, with an awards ceremony broadcast online in February to announce the winners.
