Creating Your First Review


We love accepting new reviewers at AutoBookMobile, they are the lifeblood of the site.

 

Anyone can become a reviewer. Once you have signed up to become a member of the site, just drop an email to michael@autobookmobile.com and we will upgrade your account to an ‘Reviewer’ registration.

 

Once you have been confirmed as a reviewer you are now ready to submit your first review.

Use the following steps below to write and submit your first review:

 

1. Open Your Dashboard

Log into your account, using the login widget on the AutoBookMobile homepage.

From admin menu at the top of the screen, choose the ‘Dashboard’ menu.

The header menu will now be visible to you. You can use these menus to perform admin tasks.

2. Navigating Your Dashboard

From your personal dashboard you can add, edit and delete your reviews.

All your admin options are available through the menu on the left hand side of your dashboard.

To create a new article choose which type of article you wish to create i.e. Book, DVD, Magazine, Collectible, Model or Product.  Review pages cannot be moved between article types once they have been created.

Select your subject and click the ‘Add new article’ menu option beneath your chosen subject.

N.B. You can only edit articles that you have personally created.

 

3. Add New Article

Once you have clicked the ‘Add new article’ option you will be presented with the article edit screen.

Some information in this screen is mandatory and is common to all types of review e.g. the title, review and rating must all be completed on this screen.

 

4.  Adding the review content

The main ‘editor’ part of the screen is where you will input the full text of your review.

You can either do this directly in the editor window or you can create your article in Word and paste the content into this area.

5. Add Some Rating Information

Below the editor window you will find a section for your rating information.

This area is also used to collect some additional information about the item you are reviewing (these fields will be different depending on the type of item you are reviewing)

6. Add your ‘Bottom Line’ in the excerpt section

An important part of your review is your ‘Bottom Line’.

Use the ‘Excerpt’ section to give a brief overview of your review.

7. Set a ‘Featured Image’

Another, very important, part of the review is to set the image of the item you are reviewing.

Please use the ‘Featured Image’ section on the right hand side of the screen to upload an image of the review item.

The image that you upload here will be used in several places on the website to promote your review.

8. Classification Information

Depending on the type of review, there will be various fields on the right hand side of the screen for you to specify additional information about the review item. e.g. year, classification, format studio etc.

Please try to fill these fields in as best you can.

 

9. Publish

When you are finished the review just click the ‘Publish’ button, the review will now be submitted and will instantly become view-able on the website .

N.b. You can use the ‘Save Draft’ button if you wish to save a copy of the review and complete at a later date.
